10 Best Stoner Cartoons to Watch in 2021

Tom & Jerry

Tom and Jerry Movie 2021

Tom & Jerry is a household name. It would be a surprise if you’ve never heard of this timeless classic. The long-running short animated series have served multiple generations. It used to keep kids glued to the screen early in the morning and late at night.

For some, it wouldn’t be surprising to have it on the list. As kids, the odd deal between a mouse and a cat was quite intriguing. Even without words, the characters manage to entrap your interest. As stoners, it’s a comedy trove and a chill way to blow off some steam. With all the silliness that emanates from the show, you surely can’t stop giggling and feeling young. You can watch it in absolutely any order and it wouldn’t matter. The show is acid for broadening imaginations while high.

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing”. Childhood memories hit different when reviewed from an adult’s perspective. It also evokes a different kind of nostalgia. Marijuana is a catalyst to even better the feeling. Turn on your high and get lost in the show.

There’s even a Tom & Jerry movie set to release in March 2021! It’s worth checking out too!

SpongeBob SquarePants

“You have a lose thread, I want to pull it!”

Tailing Tom & Jerry is SpongeBob Squarepants, another household name and the prototypical stoner cartoon character. Almost every kid and millions of adults can perfectly sing the theme song.

The show explores life underwater, in the funniest way ever. It tells the story of a passionate, dedicated and sometimes really stupid sponge. All the characters are well implemented and adequately harmonized.

Ordinarily, it’s an interesting cartoon to pass time. When stoned, you find yourself underwater living that King Neptune life – with a jester for your amusement.

SpongeBob SquarePants has also had two movie releases and they’re both pretty funny stoned.

Xavier: Renegade Angel

“You’re the sad figment of my twisted psyche’s tragic dividend”

Watching this high should be on every stoner’s To-do-list. The show may not be for everyone, only if MJ isn’t coursing through your veins.

The existential humor portrayed in this show received a higher education! You definitely need to be high to match the energy.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

“I Laugh At Gravity All The Time. Hahaha, Gravity.”

The Last Airbender is easily one of the most thought-out cartoons of its time. It went beyond entertainment to offer numerous real life lessons. However, it’s not that serious all the time. The proportionate mix of comedy, mind-blowing fight scenes, epic adventures and eye-watering moments is only a thing of mastery.

There’s always something to be excited about in each episode. The mystical nature of the show also propels it to an exciting start. If a sesh gets you feeling thoughtful & motivated, you can’t miss with this.

Family Guy

“Lois Might Be Worth A Million Dollars To You, But To Me She’s Worthless.”

Sometimes, you just want to stay in the moment and forget how serious things can be. Make jokes about everything and anything with almost no reserve? Family Guy’s got you.

The best part is when you’re able to view the world through various lenses all at once. The characters in Family Guy widely fit different personas co-existing at the same place and time. You get to intimately associate with the minds of the characters.

The show has got so much absurdity and insanity to offer. You may even find answers to your secret questions and better explore your weird fantasies.

King of the Hill

“I sell popcorn and popcorn accessories.”

King of the Hill isn’t so popular on TV anymore. That’s a ‘regular person’s problem.’ Not hot on TV doesn’t mean bad or unwatchable for stoners.

It flows in the same vein as South Park, Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Futurama etc. That’s not to suggest the shows are anything alike. The show is unique and more subtle than the rest. The common ground is that they’re all mature cartoons for adults.

King of the Hill derives its humor from mundane aspects of everyday life. Sometimes, shows don’t need sophistication and complexities to be great.

Ninja Scroll

“I’m not done yet. I still have a debt that I owe to you.”

If you’re craving something outside the American culture, this might just be the one. It’s also a single movie, not a series this time and most suitable for a one time hit.

It’s all about the action, violence and blood – less talk, more action. There’s also a series spawned from the movie which goes by the same name. It’s only 13 episodes. Just in case a single movie didn’t cut it for you.

The Amazing World of Gumball

“79% of stair accidents happen on the stairs”

The Amazing World of Gumball gets overlooked plenty of times. We sincerely believe MJ would transform your view.

The show balances “bizarre and weird” without completely going off the rails – Just like a soft caress of madness. It doesn’t get deep either, so you don’t have to overwork your senses to make sense of things.

Regular Show

“Mordecai and Rigby are the coolest guys I know.”

Overall, the Regular Show makes great company for stoners. However, there’s a lot of inconsistency spread across the quality of each episode. Some are by far better than the rest, while others are barely keeping-up. We would recommend seasons 1 -3 for optimal viewing pleasure.

Robot Chicken

“I’m going to hold out my hand like Lord Vader and he will pretend to be strangled.”

The earliest episodes are a must-see. We may not say the same about the rest. The sketch style show bodes well for older audiences as its humor depends heavily on pop references.

Bonus Picks

  • Triplets of Belleville
  • Metalocalypse
  • Big Mouth
  • Archer

You’re never too old for cartoons

We thought wrongly when we viewed cartoons myopically as exclusive to children. The amount of flexibility that can be achieved with animated characters pave way for boundless creative expressions. That my friend, is the language of a stoner. No limits, no setbacks, just dreams and visions. We hope you have a good time with these suggestions and hopefully come back for more.
