The Platform (2019)

Welcome to The Platform, probably the scariest trippy horror movie on this list. The pit is a vertical prison is a reflection of our society at its worst.

The pit residents are fed through a platform that runs across all prison levels. People from the higher floors eat all the can (maybe they have the munchies), leaving little to no food for the lower levels residents.

Needless to say, the lower-level residents are not handling it well, and are getting more and more unsatisfied as time goes on.

Our memories help to shape who we are, but we can’t remember everything. Well, in this movie we don’t need to.

Gordon Dunn, a man that created a device that allows people to record and relive their memories, mysteriously dies. This seems like a Black Mirror plot, right?

An amateur detective is eager to find out the cause of death. In the course of his investigation, he is confronted with important information that will flip his life upside down.

Snowpiercer (2013)

There’s something about the post-apocalyptic movies that makes you feel higher.

Snowpiercer takes place in a post-apocalyptic ice age world that forces humanity’s last survivors to live, believe it or not, in a globe-spanning super train.

Over the years, they start creating groups inside the train, forming classes, and segregating the population.

The poorest class, or “scum”, is forced to survive in inhumane conditions, which leads our protagonist to raise a revolution to regain control of the train, and the world as they know it.
