Mangoes are the perfect summer snack. They’re sweet, low in calories, and packed with nutrients. But mangoes may have another advantage. Stoners have been reporting that eating mangoes makes them higher. There are tons of rumors about weed, is this one true? Does eating mango make you higher?

There is no scientific evidence that this is true, however, there is anecdotal evidence. There are several Reddit threads where people claim that mangos increase their high.

One user from the Do mangos actually boost your high? thread said, “From personal experience, I’ve smoked with and without mango about 2 hours apart. There was definitely a difference. The high was a bit stronger and the high was definitely longer. There was a perceptible difference.”

There were also users who said they didn’t experience any difference after eating mangoes and then using weed. 

Why Does Eating Mango Make You Get Higher?

Even though it’s not proven by research that mangoes make people feel higher, it’s believed that a special terpene is at play. 

Royal Queen Seeds believes that myrcene (and other terpenes) are the reason why stoners may experience a better high after consuming mangoes. 

Terpenes are just one of the many chemicals that are found in weed and other plants such as mangoes. Myrcene is also found in hops, lemongrass, thyme, and other plants.

According to research, scientists don’t believe that terpenes interact directly with cannabinoid receptors to carry out the entourage effect. How to Use Mangoes to Make You Higher

According to Royal Queen Seeds, the best way to use mangoes is to eat them before you light up. How long before depends on your metabolism. 

Royal Queen Seeds say, “If you have a metabolism that is slow, consume one mango roughly two hours prior to smoking your cannabis. If you have a fast metabolism, you should eat two or three mangoes to achieve the desired effect.”

Do Mangoes Have THC in Them?

No, they don’t. However, mangoes do have other compounds that are great for you

You can get vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium from mangoes. 

The compounds in mango can boost your digestion, help with sleep, and may even improve your skin. 

So while mangoes don’t have THC, they’re a great snack to eat when you’re having the munchies. 

How to Enhance Your High 

In addition to mangoes, there are other ways stoners use to enhance their high. If you’re looking for a more intense high or a longer-lasting high, you can do the following: 

  • Pick Weed With Higher THC Content – Weed higher in THC would produce a more intense high. Medical News Today says that sinsemilla and hashish would produce the most intense highs since they typically have more THC. Remember though, that too much THC can cause anxiety in some people. 
  • Have an Edible Instead – The high from an edible can last as long as six (6) hours. The only drawback is that it takes much longer to feel the effects in comparison to smoking. However, the good news is there are many ways to consume edibles, you can have gummies, drinks, baked goods and no bake edibles.
  • Take a Weed Tolerance Break- If you build up a tolerance to weed then your highs may not feel as intense as they used to. By taking a weed tolerance break, you can get back to having more intense and longer highs. 

There are also other things you can do such as mixing alcohol and weed. However, that’s definitely riskier than what we suggested. 

In addition to that, certain factors can dull your high such as your metabolism and certain foods you eat. More research is needed in these areas.
