How Can I Make My Weed Stronger?
If you bought some weed and realize that you’re not getting as high as you want, there is something you can do about it.
Riley Legaspi, Chief Compliance Officer at Eighty Six Group, says the answer to your problem is THC concentrates.
“If you want to make your weed hit harder, the simplest answer is to add THC concentrates to your bowl. This could be kief from the bottom of your grinder.”
Legaspi also says, “if you are really seeking a heavy-hitting addition to your flower, try adding moonrocks to the mix.”
If you’re unfamiliar with moonrocks, they are potent nuggets of weed mixed with potent hash oil and kief.
Moonrocks will definitely get you really high, even if you’re an experienced cannabis consumer.
However, before you opt for stronger weed, you should know the risks, according to an article published in Missouri Medicine.
“the increased potency makes them [weed products] potentially more dangerous and more likely to result in addiction.”
So, how can potent weed be dangerous? While more research is needed, there is evidence high THC can have adverse side effects, including increasing your chances of addiction.
NPR says potent weed increases your risk of having an ‘adverse drug event’ and can trigger cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. There are also other negative side effects of THC such as racing heartbeat and anxiety. Of course, not everyone will have the same experience.
If you’re new to THC or usually have negative side effects from high THC products, maybe skip out on making your weed stronger.
However, just because you don’t want to up your THC doesn’t mean you can’t get a better high.
Here’s what we mean.
Take a Weed Tolerance Break
Maybe the potency of your weed isn’t the problem.
If you’ve developed a certain level of tolerance, even potent weed can feel much less potent for you.
So, instead of trying to make weed stronger, how about taking a weed tolerance break?
Legaspi says, “If you don’t have access to concentrates, you can still get a stronger effect by taking regular tolerance breaks.”
A weed tolerance break means you quit weed for a while, and then when you start using weed again, the hopes are that your tolerance will be reset, and you can go back to enjoying milder weed.
We have to warn you, though, that quitting weed cold turkey can result in withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, reduced appetites, and headaches.
You’re probably wondering how long your break needs to be.
Put your bong away for about three weeks.
WebMD says, “It takes approximately 3 weeks for THC to leave your system. So your cannabis tolerance break should be at least 21 days long.”
On the other hand, Healthline says your tolerance break totally depends on you.
“The length of your T break is up to you. There’s no solid data on exactly how long it takes for CB1 receptors to recover, so you’ll have to experiment a bit.”
Don’t worry; quitting weed is not the only way that you can lower your weed tolerance.
You can also:
- Use weed less often
- Try another strain
- Increase your CBD consumption
Change Your Usual Weed Routine
If you want your weed to feel stronger, Legaspi suggests changing your usual weed routine.
“If you’re used to smoking flower, try opting for a pen, or switching to edibles for a while.”
You can also stop using potent weed or weed products for a while. Using milder THC products, in general, can help you avoid a high tolerance.
Healthline says, “Since it’s THC that leads to the depletion of your CB1 receptors, it’s wise to opt for products that are a bit lower in THC.”
Take a Snack Break
If you’re in the middle of a weak high, it’s time to grab a snack.
Some foods that can help you boost your high include mangos, chocolate, nuts, and sweet potatoes.
While not confirmed by science, Mangoes are said to boost your high because of certain terpenes such as mycrene.
However, it may be best to eat the mango an hour or two before using weed. You can experiment with the amount of mangos and time before your smoke sesh to see what works for you.
You’re probably wondering how chocolate could possibly increase your high. Well, there may be compounds in it that can mimic cannabinoids. A 1996 study states, “Chocolate is widely believed to enhance the effect of marijuana. A practical implication of this finding is that the amount of marijuana needed for medicinal purposes may be decreased by using it with chocolate.”
The omega-3 fatty acids in nuts are believed to increase your high, and sweet potatoes are just feel-good foods.
Have Some Tea
If you want to make weed stronger, pour yourself a cup of tea.
Healthline says, “low levels of caffeine may enhance your high.”
However, notice that they said low levels, so we don’t recommend coffee.
A cup of green and black tea usually has much less caffeine than a cup of coffee.
You should also know that they based this conclusion on an animal study. We don’t actually know if this is true for people.
Takeaway
Wondering how to make weed stronger? You can add THC concentrates to your weed sesh or try moonrocks. In addition, you can take a weed tolerance break, change your routine, or opt for a snack or some tea to enhance your highs.
