GTA is known for many things. Its most enduring features include fantastic gameplay with surprisingly well-crafted storylines and characters. But beyond all its features, one very important question remains. Where is the weed stash in GTA 5?

Treasure Hunting in Los Santos
The GTA (Grand Theft Auto) franchise is an action-adventure series that includes several missions and side quests all geared toward an overall story. Despite its rich lore and diverse settings, the imagery most commonly associated with it – for better or worse – includes cars and a man in a sleeveless vest.
So popular is this imagery that major YouTube channels have entire videos dedicated to recreating it in live action, with increasingly humorous results.
Even with the more limited understanding of GTA, though, it’s still not hard to imagine they would include a weed stash in their gameplay. But if you’re wondering, “where is the weed stash in GTA 5,” the answer is: in a truck and a car.
More specifically, the stashes are located inside two vehicles, themselves stashed in two separate locations. And the first mission begins with a high-speed car chase from cops who are on your tail for, unsurprisingly enough, grand theft auto.
GTA’s Strangers and Freaks
GTA 5 features three main playable characters: Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Outside of them, there are minor characters along the way who give the leads their missions. And among these are the three Strangers and Freaks missions, personally delivered by Barry. Someone who just so happens to be an advocate for the legalization of marijuana in Los Santos.
One of the Strangers and Freaks missions is titled the “Grass Roots” mission. It involves our leading trio tripping on a substance they smoke. While Michael and Trevor lose their entire minds, Franklin gets by without any issues. And subsequently, he is tasked with picking up two stashes of weed and bringing them back to Barry.
Where is the First Weed Stash Located in GTA 5?
The first location where the weed is stashed is Marietta Heights. Finding and collecting it seems simple enough: it’s in a truck. But you already know how it goes with GTA.
You steal the truck. The cops are on you like white on rice. You hide in a couple of alleyways and slip through their fingers. And you make it back to Barry with both weed and soul intact.
Where is the 2nd Weed Stash in GTA 5?
The second location is less conspicuous in that the cops won’t be much of a problem. Head to La Puerta, find the car with the stash and bring it back to Barry. The only caveat is, of course, that you’ll have to physically tow the vehicle all the way.
Maybe being chased by cops isn’t the worst way to secure a stash of top shelf weed.
How to Make a Weed Farm in GTA 5 Online
Once you’ve found all the weed and brought it to Barry, you might consider upping the ante. And what better way to do that than by starting your own weed farm?
Despite the roadblocks, the Strangers and Freaks marijuana missions are not nearly as much work as operating your own weed farm.
Back in 2016, the game was given a leg-up with the “Bikers DLC” update. It allowed players to run their own Motorcycle Clubs. Becoming the MC Clubhouse president gave you access to Lester Crest’s in-game dark web network called “The Open Road.” Through here, you can access the tools you need to operate illicit businesses in the GTA universe.
As we said: this isn’t the easiest of paths. But once you get to the weed farms, you might find the journey quite worth the trouble. After all, you can’t go wrong when blending the joy of a weed-farming game with the visuals, gameplay, and storytelling of GTA 5.
Setting Up and Operating a GTA Weed Farm
The first step to starting your feed farm is similar to Barry’s missions. After you purchase your weed farm on The Open Road, you steal a Pony van filled with supplies and bring it back to your farm.
GTA weed farms, like most of its other illicit businesses, aren’t the most profitable venture. To sustain it, you’ll need to spend quite a bit of your in-game dough. And to make that kind of money, you’ll have to complete other quests and missions. This is especially pertinent, seeing as your farm will come to a standstill without a steady supply of, well, supplies.
Nonetheless, it can be a pretty good side hustle, despite the massive price tag attached to each location. Besides, there are plenty of weed farm upgrades that will significantly improve your productivity and by extension, profitability. And if you play your cards right, it will only take a few days for you to make back your investment.
While this may be longer than what it would take if you were to opt for any of the other businesses available, it’s still worth it if you’re a stoner with a love for farming.
You Forget a Thousand Things Everyday, Make Sure This Isn’t One of ‘Em
There are several memorable quotes and catchphrases in the GTA franchise. And Michael De Santa can lay claim to quite a few of them. And while his trademark statement might ask you to forget what you see, you may want to remember the site of your precious stash.
And speaking of that, just where is the weed stash in GTA 5? Somewhere in between high-speed chases and manual labor, evidently.
