Vapes have become increasingly popular due to their use of ease and portability. From vape pens to disposables, to pods and mods, it can get confusing. In this guide, we’ll cover what live resin is, how it differs from other concentrates and how to use a live resin vape.

What is live resin?

Live resin is a sticky cannabis concentrate derived from frozen cannabis plants instead of dried and cured buds.

The plant matter is freshly harvested and flash frozen. Then, the frozen cannabis is passed through a solvent such as butane or propane before extracting the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavors.

The unique extraction method ensures the plant preserves its potent cannabinoid content, including the primary ones (THC and CBD) and terpene profile. Live resin has a high THC content ranging from 45% to 90% and up to 90% CBD. For this reason, you should be extra cautious when consuming this concentrate to avoid undesirable effects.

The major difference between live resin and other concentrates, such as wax, is how they’re made. Instead of using a live plant, other concentrates are made from dried or cured flowers instead.

What is live resin vape?

There are several ways you can consume live resin. One of them is using a live resin vape.

A live resin vape is a device that vaporizes the concentrate. When the consumer inhales the vapor, it comes into contact with lung tissues and is absorbed directly into the bloodstream.

There are two types of live resin vapes: refillable and disposable.

Live resin disposable vape

A live resin disposable vape comes with a pre-filled concentrate and battery. There are two categories of disposable vape: rechargeable and non-rechargeable.

You’ll replace the device when it runs out of concentrate or battery power for a non-rechargeable live resin vape. On the other hand, rechargeable disposable vapes can be recharged until you exhaust all of the prefilled live resin and dispose of it.

Live resin disposable vapes are incredibly beginner-friendly, making them ideal for novice consumers.

How long will a disposable vape last you? It’ll depend on the holding capacity. Also, how often you vape the concentrate will determine its duration.

Refillable live resin vape

As the name suggests, you can refill your vaping device once you have exhausted the juice. This gives you a chance to add flavor, elevating your vaping experience.

You can use refillable live resin vape for longer, giving you more value for your money. Here are the most common types of refillable vapes:

Live resin vape pen

This handheld device heats live resin to produce vapor without burning it. It can be button-activated or buttonless.

A buttonless live resin vape pen has a rechargeable battery, a cartridge, an atomizer, a sensor, and a mouthpiece. A cartridge or cart is the container that holds the atomizer and vape juice.

When you inhale through the mouthpiece, this activates the atomizer, which raises the temperature. This heats the vape juice and vaporizes it. The vapor will pass through the device, your mouth, and lung tissues. Hold the vapor for 10 to 20 seconds to ensure you absorb most of the live resin, then release it by exhaling.

On the other hand, push-button vape pens are activated by pressing the button, and the device comes to life. Press your lips on the mouthpiece and suck the flavorful vapor.

Live resin vape pod

This is a type of vape that has a battery and a pod instead of a vape tank. A pod still does the same job as vape tanks, holding the heating coil and vape juice.

There are two categories of live resin vape pods: open and closed.

Open live resin vape pods

They are refillable, so you can remove the pod when empty and refill it with your vape juice. The biggest benefit of open pod vapes is that you can try several brands until you get the ideal one.

Closed vape pods

They come with pre-filled liquid live resin. Once you have exhausted its content, you’ll have to replace the whole pod. As it comes pre-filled, you don’t have to risk spilling or leaking the vape juice and damaging the device when refilling it.

Generally, live resin vape pods are small and easy to use, making them ideal for consumers who want to enjoy live resin on the go.

How to use a live resin vape pod

Here is a basic step-by-step guide on how to use a live resin vape pod:

Charge the vape pod

If your pod has low power, you must charge it. Most vape pods can be charged via a USB connection. Please wait for it to be fully charged before moving to the next step.

Fill the pod

If you’re using an open pod, refill it with the liquid live resin. Please remove it from the battery and slowly squeeze the vape juice into the pod. However, ensure you comply with the set capacity to avoid overfilling your pod.

But if you’re using a  closed one, skip this step.

Priming

Allow the pod to sit for a few minutes, typically 5 to 10 minutes. Priming allows the wick to absorb the vape juice. This prevents dry hits, which can lead to coughing, affecting the vaping experience.

Insert the pod

Once the wick is properly soaked, insert the pod into the battery section. Most vape pods use 510 threads, making it easier to screw and unscrew your device.

Activate your device

Some vape pods can be activated by inhaling through the mouthpiece. In others, you’ll have to push a button to activate them.

Once it’s activated, draw small hits, and you may increase them with time.

Are live resin vapes better?

Here are the benefits of using live resin vapes:

Faster onset

When ingesting live resin edibles, they must undergo digestion before being absorbed into the bloodstream. This prolongs the onset period. Also, the digestion process may filter a considerable amount of cannabinoids.

However, when you vape your live resin, it’s absorbed directly into the bloodstream via lung tissues, bypassing digestion. Also, the high potency of up to 90% THC means you’ll get faster and more intense effects with a small amount.

Also, the presence of terpenes helps heighten the trip. They collaborate with present cannabinoids to increase the high feeling through the entourage effect.

Easy to use and convenient

Most live resin vapes, such as pens and pods, are highly user-friendly. Once you have a filled live resin cart or pod, all you have to do is draw the vapor and enjoy the exciting benefits of this potent concentrate.

The live resin vape devices also offer a discreet way to enjoy cannabis while on the go. The rich terpene profile elevates the aroma, ensuring it leaves a minor odor compared to smoking ganja.

Improved vaping experience

A live resin vape doesn’t burn the vape juice. Instead, it heats it directly into the vapor. This avoids the production of smoking byproducts such as tar. These contaminants can irritate sensitive tissues in your throat and lungs, leading to coughing.

Also, most modern vape devices have temperature control settings compared to classic dab rigs that use a torch. Varying heat releases different terpenes and cannabinoids, creating a customized vaping experience and effects.

Revolutionize your high

Live resin vape can revolutionize how you vaporize your concentrate. Aside from faster onset, live resin vapes let you customize your experience, ensuring you get the most out of the concentrate.
