Good trippy movies have something unique about them that helps us expand our imagination (same as ganja), and travel through different dimensions (also like ganja), making it one of the favorite movie genres of the stoner community.

If you are already plopped out on the couch high, and in the mood to get even higher, all you have to do is to grab your munchies, pack another bong bowl and get lost in these trippy realities.

Here are the top 10 trippy movies on Netflix.

I Am Mother (2019)

The bond between a mother and a daughter is something hard to break. Until a stranger arrives with unsettling news.

We will travel to a parallel universe, where a teenage girl named Daughter is being raised by a robot, named Mother that is hoping to repopulate the Earth after an extinction.

One day, Daughter decides to leave the bunker and meets Woman, a person not too fond of robots. That is when the tension between Mother and Daughter begins.

The Platform (2019)

Welcome to The Platform, probably the scariest trippy horror movie on this list. The pit is a vertical prison is a reflection of our society at its worst.

The pit residents are fed through a platform that runs across all prison levels. People from the higher floors eat all the can (maybe they have the munchies), leaving little to no food for the lower levels residents.

Needless to say, the lower-level residents are not handling it well, and are getting more and more unsatisfied as time goes on.

Inception (2010)

Stealing corporate secrets is not trippy by nature, but doing this using dream-sharing technology starts to be. When we add multilayer dimensions, stealing secrets from people’s subconscious and surreal landscapes, we have the ingredients to blow your mind.

Dom can extract ideas in his sleep. But when a client proposes the inverse task, to plant an idea into the mind of a wildly successful CEO, he will need to take it to the next level.

Time Trap (2017)

Professor Hopper is desperately trying to find out what happened to his parents after they mysteriously disappeared. In his search for the truth, he ends up disappearing while exploring a remote cave.

His students start a relentless search to find out what happened. They end up experiencing bizarre events and discovering that time passes differently inside and outside the cave. Take a few puffs of sweet Maryjane because we’re about to time travel.

Rememory (2017)

Our memories help to shape who we are, but we can’t remember everything. Well, in this movie we don’t need to.

Gordon Dunn, a man that created a device that allows people to record and relive their memories, mysteriously dies. This seems like a Black Mirror plot, right?

An amateur detective is eager to find out the cause of death. In the course of his investigation, he is confronted with important information that will flip his life upside down.

Self/less (2015)

Damian is a brilliant and successful man who achieved everything that he might want in life until he crossed paths with an enemy he can’t defeat – brain cancer.

His only hope to extend his life is a procedure called “shedding”, which consists of transferring his consciousness to an artificial and healthy body. After the procedure, he can start over in New Orleans as a new person – Edward.

However, things won’t be as simple as he expects it.

The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)

The year is 2028. A group of scientists is in the Cloverfield space station preparing to test a particle accelerator that could power the planet with infinite energy. But something goes wrong, and the Earth vanishes.

Now, they see themselves trapped in outer space, trying to find a way to escape this situation. Suddenly a space shuttle appears. Are they here to help or kill? The Cloverfield crew must make a choice.

Snowpiercer (2013)

There’s something about the post-apocalyptic movies that makes you feel higher.

Snowpiercer takes place in a post-apocalyptic ice age world that forces humanity’s last survivors to live, believe it or not, in a globe-spanning super train.

Over the years, they start creating groups inside the train, forming classes, and segregating the population.

The poorest class, or “scum”, is forced to survive in inhumane conditions, which leads our protagonist to raise a revolution to regain control of the train, and the world as they know it.

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

One of the trippiest movies of the century takes us to England in the future.

Alex and his dysfunctional gang spend their nights getting high and committing acts of violence, like rape, theft, and killing. That ends after he is arrested for the murder of the Cat Lady.

The only way for him to be released is by submitting to an experimental behavior modification technique.

What do you think will happen when his prior victims find out that he’s out again?

Lucid Dream (2017)

One day his son is kidnapped and no ransom request is made. Could this be an act of revenge from someone?

After three years with no clues about his son’s whereabouts and he, in a desperate attempt, tries a new form of therapy that allows patients to relive important memories through lucid dreams.
